The History of Heart of Agni
The Genesis (2016)
The story of Heart of Agni began in 2016 within the Faculty of Management and Commerce (FMC) at
South Eastern University of Sri Lanka. Born from the need to document prestigious academic
events
and professional gatherings, a group of ambitious students set out to create more than just a
camera club — they created a media identity.
The name "Agni" was chosen to symbolize the fire of intellect and the warmth of community that defines the FMC spirit, reflecting our passion for creativity, knowledge, and unity.
Professional Growth
While our roots remain firmly planted in the Faculty of Management and Commerce, the quality of
our work quickly transcended faculty boundaries. We introduced a
corporate-standard approach to media — emphasizing sharp visuals, timely reporting, and
professional branding. This management-oriented perspective enabled us to handle high-profile
events with exceptional discipline and reliability.
Expanding the Horizon (The Present)
Today, Heart of Agni has evolved from a faculty-level initiative into a
University-Wide Media Partner. Our lens no longer focuses on a single faculty;
we now serve as the "eyes and ears" of the entire South Eastern University of Sri
Lanka.
From General Convocations to Inter-University competitions and major student festivals, Heart of Agni stands at the forefront. We have transformed into a multidisciplinary media unit specializing in:
Corporate Branding
Professional media coverage for faculty and university-level summits
Dynamic Storytelling
Capturing diverse student life across all faculties
Digital Innovation
Leading live broadcasting and social media engagement at SEUSL
